Overview – Uvita Real Estate
The small village of Uvita is located just 16km south of Dominical on the Costa Ballena in the province of Puntarenas on the southern pacific coast of Costa Rica.
As the closest village to the Marino Ballena National Park, Uvita is emerging as a popular tourism hub for exploring the area’s untamed beaches, waterfalls and for spotting migrating humpback whales during December to April.
However, for most of the year, particularly the low season, Uvita has retained a quiet, tranquil and laid back pace of life.
The waters off shore form part of the national park and, thanks to their protected status, are ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving.
All kinds of water sports such as kayaking, as well as horse riding, are also possible.
If you prepare to take things easy, the beach at Playa Uvita is one of the most picturescque in Costa Rica and simply perfect for long walks and basking in the sunshine.

How to Get to Uvita
To get to Uvita, fly to Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) just outside San Jose.
There are direct flights to San Jose from the USA, Canada and Europe.
From San Jose you can drive to Uvita.
The journey takes approximately 3 hours.
Alternatively you can take a taxi from the airport to Dominical.
