Overview – Jaco Real Estate
Situated in Puntarenas on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Jaco is a popular resort town.
It lies just south of the beaches of Herradura Bay to the north and Playa Hermosa to the south, 35 km from Carara National Park which is known for its rainforest and as the home to some of Costa Rica’s last remaining wild scarlet macaws and 75 km from Manuel Antonio National Park.
As the closest beach town to San Jose, Jaco is popular with those looking to make a dash from the city to the coast.
The town has a welcoming atmosphere with lively restaurants and bars and the 2.5 mile long Jaco Beach (Playa Jaco).
With the ocean and rainforest on its doorstep, Jaco is ideal for enjoying all kinds of experiences such as kayaking, white-water rafting, horseback riding, deep-sea fishing and some of the best surfing in the country.

Getting to Jaco
To get to Jaco, fly to Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) just outside San Jose.
There are direct flights to San Jose from the USA, Canada and Europe.
From San Jose you can drive to Jaco which is approximately 100 km away.
The journey takes under 2 hours.
